Meryl Streep was one of five honorees saluted at the Kennedy Center Honors for their lifetime contributions to American culture this past Tuesday. Naturally, these salutes included kind words and performances from those close to the honorees; this, then, is why Anne Hathaway exercised her powers of flexibility for her Devil Wears Prada co-star.

For the curious, the song is “She’s My Pal,” which was originally sung by Meryl Streep to Jack Nicholson in the 1987 film Ironweed. Other Kennedy Center honorees this year included Neil Diamond, Yo-Yo Ma, and Sonny Rollins.
