Stop the presses:

Simon Cowell joined Twitter.

Yep: The X Factor judge finally hopped on the Twitter bandwagon on Wednesday, sending out the following message from an account oh-so-creatively named @SimonCowell:

And he already has this many people following him:

Wowzers.

Right now, he himself is only following 11 people, most of whom have something to do with X Factor or one of his many other pursuits: Nicole Scherzinger, Steve Jones, Piers Morgan, his production company SyCo News, and the like. Apparently he’s really enjoying Twitter, though, as he Tweeted this shortly after joining:

Other things we’ve learned from his foray into social media include the fact that Simon is an Android user. I guess Siri’s iPhone voice wasn’t impressive enough for him.

Naturally, countless celebs and musicians have joined those who follow Simon, though some of them appear to be a little conflicted about the matter: According to the Hollywood Reporter, Simon LeBon of Duran Duran Tweeted this at him:

Welcome to the fold, Simon! We look forward to having you lambast us in 140 characters or less!
