So there seems to be this wacky trend going around the cast of Jersey Shore lately where for some strange reason, they’ve all started leaving behind the mountains of self-tanner, clouds of hairspray, and disgusting amounts of makeup. And you know what? It’s actually an improvement. Want proof? Read on.

Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola started it all by getting a “makeunder” by XOJane in December. In the article accompanying the photo shoot, Sammi explained her makeup routine on a typical night out: Foundation, concealer, bronzer, heavy eyeliner, eye shadow, fake lashes, and lip gloss. Plus, she shampoos her hair and extensions, blow dries, flat irons, and then teases. It takes two full hours. Excessive? Um, yes.

But by the time the XOJane team was done with her, not only did she look drastically better than she usually does, but moreover, the whole thing only took five minutes to do. FIVE. MINUTES. I’d take a five-minute beauty routine over a two-hour one any day. Here’s the before and after:

The next thing we knew, JWoww was showing up at a Lakers game in L.A. with no makeup on:

Snooki was Tweeting herself without makeup (though she looks like she may actually have a little bit on—clear gloss, concealer, and a little bit of eyeliner, perhaps):

Big difference for all of them, no? So here is the question I pose to you, Bettys: Which of them looks best without (or, as the case may be, with minimal) makeup?
