Every fashion week, we see dogs! We see dogs backstage, in  purses and sometimes hidden under jackets. This time around, we decided to run a series of the pooches we run into during the fashion madness that is known as Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week.

While all of us normal people know that our dogs can be our best friends and muses, it’s fun to see how our four-footed friends help out the glitterati!

I had a chance to talk backstage to the head designer of Nicholas K, Nicholas Kunz (yes, Nicholas is a she), after her show about her buddy Jake. He actually came out on stage with her and her brother at the end.

“Jake is our 10-year old boxer. He’s been involved in this process since the beginning. He’s a real positive influence on us. He always has a lot of happy energy.” While chatting, beset on all sides with jovial chaos, Jake is just calmly sitting down, hamming it up for the cameras.

Nicholas continues, “He’s loves all the attention. He even wears our brand! His favorite outfit is a barber jacket we made for him with customized vintage leather. He also loves his rope collar.” It’s nice to know that celebs can get goo-goo over their pets!
