First off, a hearty congratulations to Lady Antebellum singer Hillary Scott and Love and Theft drummer Chris Tyrrell on their weekend wedding! Hillary and Chris tied the knot on Saturday in Upstate New York; the audience was small and composed of only friends and family, but the two love birds posted a charming video to Lady Antebellum’s website, letting fans get a peek at the glorious day. Wang was Hillary’s first choice of designers for her dress; indeed, when the Lady Antebellum singer first began planning her wedding, she immediately contacted the designer about creating a one-of-a-kind custom dress. “Hillar was joyous, over the moon,” Wang told People. “[She was] enchanted with the thought of a hand-pieced, hand-engineered lace mermaid wedding gown.” And that’s just what she got! The dress ended up being strapless with all-over lace underlay, a layered tulle skirt with horsehair banding, and a hand-cut corded lace applique with hand-applied crystal and pearl beading. The final touch for the look was an embroidered, cathedral length mantilla veil with hand-cut Chantilly lace applique. Wang elaborated on the design, saying, “While the dress was very tailored, the lace work was extremely feminine. [She was] a contemporary vision of a traditional bride.”
