The Gucci family, who put their fashion house on the market in the 1990s after Patrizia Reggiani (to be played by Angelina Jolie) plotted to murder her husband Maurizio Gucci, does not support the feature film being billed as a fashion-family murder drama.
Maurizio’s cousin Patrizia Gucci has told many Italian publications that she feels betrayed by Scott’s wife Giannina Facio and one of the film’s producers, as they allegedly promised the family that it would be more of a tribute.
"Scott had assured us that it would not be a scandalistic movie," Patrizia told Corriere della Sera. "This is not an authorize movie and we will try to block it if it is offensive.” (Variety)
